Maria Bygrove

Maria Bygrove (b. 1983, Poland) is a Scotland-based illustrator and printmaker working primarily in drawing and etching. After an MA in Philosophy, she worked as a book cover designer before turning fully to art later in life. Her practice combines a design-informed sense of composition with patience, precision and slow, process-led techniques.
She works from her home on an island off Scotland’s west coast.

Maria was awarded a VACMA Early Career Bursary in 2025 and has exhibited at Dunoon MOCA (2024) and The Six Foot Gallery, Glasgow (2024). Her work is also held at the  Glasgow Print Studio Gallery.
