Neil Groom

Neil Groom's (b.1967) mixed-media practice blurs boundaries and inhabits liminal spaces—zones of transition and ambiguity—where abstraction meets representation and tradition merges with experimentation. Through layered surfaces and hybrid technologies, Groom explores themes of identity, memory, and transformation, inviting viewers to engage with the generative possibilities found at the edges of artistic and personal experience. He completed his BFA at the Canterbury University, New Zealand, majoring in Painting and Art History and received a Diploma in Teaching at the Christchurch College of Education, New Zealand. Recent exhibition include 'Borderlands: Thresholds in Painting' at Pictorem Gallery, London (2026),'Let's Talk About Intuition', Pictorem Gallery, London (2024), and 'There are no Things only Relationships', Terrace Gallery, London (2023).
