Suzanne Bethell

Suzanne Bethell's (b.1957) first solo show was in Manchester in 1995. She has exhibited widely throughout the UK including at the Royal Scottish Academy, The Royal West of England Academy, The Royal Cambrian, Wales, Hepworth print fair, Manchester Art fair, Saul Hay Gallery, Manchester and the Porthminster Gallery, St Ives. She has had solo shows yearly since her exhibition, Lucky Dip at HOME, Manchester in 2022. Subsequent shows, Playground (2023) and Playground 11 (2024) were in Manchester’s Northern Quarter. Her most recent solo show, 'Sensing Colour' was at the Penwith Gallery, St Ives
(2025). A print of Suzanne's painting 'Moment of Balance' is available at the Whitworth, Manchester. In 2020, she was selected for bOlder contemporary artist programme with Castlefield Gallery, Manchester. She was also a finalist in the Flourish National Printmaking Award and a finalist in the open at HOME, Manchester.
Her work is held in private collections nationally and internationally. Suzanne obtained her BA honours degree in English Literature & Education from the University of York (1979). She took a sabbatical from her FE lecturing role as a Teacher Educator, to complete a Foundation degree in Art and Design - (distinction 2000) . She has undertaken online PG1, PG2, PG3 and Masterclass with the Contemporary Art Academy. She received a Complete Printmaker award with Hotbed Press (2017) and a Certificate
in Teaching in FE, Manchester Victoria University (1984). She is a qualified mindfulness trainer and practitioner.
