About the Artwork
A Dream Dancing in the Sunlight responds to the transformation of my hometown landscape by large-scale solar farms. Using wood, fabric, rope, beads and bells, I reconstruct the form of a solar panel through handcraft and Paiwan visual language. The work translates an industrial structure into a cultural vocabulary shaped by bodily knowledge, family history and memory.
Rather than rejecting this infrastructure, I absorb and reinterpret it through tactile, familiar materials. The solar panel becomes a hybrid object between technology and culture, reflecting on estrangement, assimilation and how identity is reshaped when land changes.
