About the Artwork

'Animated Clouds' explores the relationship between organic forms and the strict perfection and precision of geometry, examining how these elements can coexist or contradict each other. Through the use of geometric structures in relation to cloud
formations, the work considers the deconstruction of the landscape through abstract geometric forms. The geometric elements, as symbolic references to the human-made and artificial environment, alter and interrupt the natural form of the cloud, reflecting the conflicts between the city and the surrounding natural world.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Eleni Maragaki (b. 1995) is a visual artist based in Athens and London. She holds a BA from the Athens School of Fine Arts and an MA from Central Saint Martins. Her work has been showcased in the UK, Europe, and Asia, including at Tate Modern. She was shortlisted for the First Plinth Award by the Royal Society of Sculptors in 2023. She has undertaken residencies in London, Italy, and China. She is an elected member of the Royal Society of Sculptors.
