Broken/Erected

Photographic sculpture, canson paper print on concrete, wood and mild steel bar.

About the Artwork

This work combines a hyperactive state photoshoot with a poor assembly base. Originally created as an exploration of the excited state, the sculptural aspect reveals a precarious and heavy materiality, fitting a moment of personal crisis while transitioning from minimum wage employment to self-employment in the Uk at age 41.

The work shows a particular form of resilience, as open-wound.
