Instead of producing electric light, it glows with the soft sheen of waxed red terracotta, a warmth that comes entirely from the clay itself. This 'light bulb idea', born of earth and shaped by hand, invites us to look differently at ordinary things.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Stathis Dimitriadis (b.1971, Greece) studied Chemical Engineering and trained as a ceramicist in Athens before continuing with an MA in Fine Arts at the Cass Faculty of Art, London Met.
He was a finalist for the Royal Society of Sculptors Public Art Award 2015, the National Sculpture Prize 2016 and the Ashurst Emerging Artist Prize 2016. His work was included in ceramic Biennials and public collections in Portugal, Spain, Austria, Germany and Romania.
Recent exhibition include the London Group Open 2023 and the ING Discerning Eye 2023. He is a member of the London Group and the Royal Society of Sculptors.
