About the Artwork

I explore the intertwining of past, present and future through gestural action painting, where material captures the energy of the present and chance is embraced as a way of navigating uncertainty. This physical act becomes a form of automatism, from which symbolic creatures and figures emerge through drips and translucent layers, forming a pastoral allegory shaped by ambiguity rather than control.
Just as the Romantics once responded to the upheavals of the Industrial Revolution, I invite slow looking as a way to question certainty in our fast paced digital age.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Beverley Isaacs (b. 1964) studied at the Royal College of Art, obtaining their MA in Painting in 2025, as well as Central Saint Martins (2002) and Camberwell College of Arts, where they obtained a BA in Graphic Design in 1994. From 2005–2011, Beverley lived in Oaxaca Mexico, presenting a solo show 'Momentos Musicales' at Palacio del Gobierno, sponsored by the Secretary of Culture, and appearing in local press and TV
(Canal 9 Oaxaca).

Group exhibitions include the RA Summer Exhibition (2019, 2025), NEAC (2019/20), Venice Biennale (2019,2024), WAC, and the RCA MA Graduation Show. Beverley received the NEAC Drawing Scholarship in 2018. Press includes Artists & Illustrators, Camden New Journal.
