About the Artwork
In The Sea Still Glows, I use blue light, water, flowers, and the figure of a critically endangered Hawaiian bird to create a psychological landscape rather than a literal scene. The bird becomes both part of the surrounding nature and a fragile presence within it, carrying feelings of lost memory, vulnerability, and emotional identification. Through the glowing surface, layered colour, and flowing lines, the work reflects my wider interest in nature as a space where memory, movement, freedom, and inner certainty can be felt.
