About the Artwork
The Pink Cosmos series started from research into the marble folds of classical sculpture. The forms were then built from animal and bodily materials, along with cosmetics such as lipstick, letting their temperature, setting process and weight decide the final shape. They sit between abstract and figurative, leaving each viewer free to finish the story in their own way. The artist's presence is kept inside: traces of her touch on the surface, small objects hidden deep within the material. Delicate and erotic, the works hold the viewer at a safe distance, leaving the eye alone to do the touching.
