About the Artwork
In my work, I explore the land from above, but also on foot. 'Beach — Pier — Inivea' is rooted in the cleared village of Inivea on Scotland’s west coast, where I often run the coastal trails that lead there. Each step through the landscape brings me closer to its history: roofless houses, runrigs, and fading paths that are imprinted on the hillside like memory itself. These are the final fragments of a vanished community, traces of lives once lived, now folded into the land.
