About the Artwork
Milk and Tears - The Collapsing of Separateness
Tears and milk blur boundaries between interior and exterior, self and other, sacred and profane; expressing the luminous collapse of separateness.
Hélène Cixous, in The Laugh of the Medusa, urges women to write from the body - a liquid, excessive, transgressive writing.
Unlike rigid patriarchal logic, this writing is not linear. It spills. It seeps through cracks, drips with contradiction and longing.
“Write yourself. Your body must be heard. Only then will the immense resources of the unconscious spring forth.”
