About the Artwork

This painting is part of my ongoing Fountain series, where each work feeds into the next, exploring cycles of transformation, collapse, and renewal. Layers of transparent oil are built up, carved, and sanded to reveal hidden textures and subtle color shifts. The fountain acts as a recurring motif, representing perpetual motion and the provisional balance between growth and decay. Through this layering process, the work captures both material and conceptual evolution, reflecting the continual interplay between presence and absence, emergence and dissolution.
