About the Artwork

**Ya Bahiya** is an installation rooted in diasporic memory and acts of active remembrance. Through painting, sculpture, and found materials, the work reflects on what happens to the people, places, and everyday objects we leave behind when we move.
Although physically absent, they continue to exist in memory, becoming fragmented, transformed, and reassembled over time. Rather than reconstructing a single place or narrative, the installation brings together these fragments, allowing memory to unfold through material, image, and gesture. The work considers remembrance as an active process of negotiating distance, belonging, and the shifting relationship between home and exile.
